Recently there were three new clinical grade single oils released. When I heard that one of them was Patchouli, I got excited! Patchouli is another of the essential oils that I have never been able to tolerate (Lavender is the other one.) Let me back up and share that story. When I received my first sample in the mail, it had Peppermint, Lavender, and Lemon. I was impressed by the potency of the peppermint, but what really got my attention was the Lavender. In the past, Lavender has always given me a headache. When we made soaps, I would just ignore people’s request for lavender because it wasn’t worth the headache, literally. When I opened the sample of clinical grade Lavender, the smell was different and no ensuing headache. SO, when I heard that there was going to be a clinical grade Patchouli, I couldn’t wait to smell it. I wasn’t disappointed. It doesn’t smell ANYTHING like the sickly sweet Patchouli oils I have been exposed to in the past, and it is going to be a GREAT addition to the Skinny Dipping recipe, especially for those of us who have some extra skin from weight release, and those with mature skin that gravity has taken its toll on. Pachouli has some other interesting benefits as well and would make a great addition to a Double Dip with a spouse, or to a Massage Blend. Black Pepper and Patchouli combined and mixed with a carrier oil would be a great base for an Intimacy Blend. Add in some Orange or Ylang-Ylang, or maybe some Determination – whatever suits your fancy.
Patchouli is an oil that many people associate with Hippies and Woodstock, but it has other great uses too besides Hippie perfume.
Thank you … I’m very excited about this oil.. I was in Cincinnati Ohio at the Zija Convention when this oil was introduced.
